Special Needs Classes (Intellectual Disabilities) for 2026

The Manila Japanese School has established a "Special Needs Class (Intellectual Disabilities)" for children who require support in their intellectual development.

In this class, we provide learning and life support tailored to each child's pace, helping them become independent and grow.

We are recruiting new students for the 2026 school year as follows:

Recruitment personnel

2 students in the elementary school division (2 students are scheduled to continue enrolling out of the 4 students capacity)

Eligibility

  • New students who will reach school age in April 2026

  • Transfer students who are expected to complete the relevant grade at elementary school

  • Children with intellectual disabilities

  • In principle, children who can walk to school independently or accompanied by a parent or guardian

  • Children who are deemed appropriate to take the special needs education course at our school

Saturday, November 8, 2020 - Sunday, November 30, 2020

The subject line should be "Application for admission to special needs classes."
Please attach the "Application Form for Admission Examination (PDF)" and send it by email.

Application deadline: Monday, November 30, 2025

Required documents

After applying, please submit the following documents by Monday, December 8th.

  1. Entrance examination individual questionnaire (to be completed by the child's kindergarten or school)

  2. Doctor's certificate

  3. Intelligence and development test results report

  4. Copy of rehabilitation handbook

Review process

  1. After receiving your documents, we will notify you of the review date by email.

  2. Parent/child interview (including written and interview)
    Period: December 9th (Tuesday) to December 19th (Friday), 2020

  3. Deliberations by the School Support Committee

  4. Notification of review results (by email by December 22nd)
